About Us

Brian G. Duvall

Hi. I’m Brian Duvall, CEO of Joint Venture Lightning.

I started this web site to help you get your ideas produced and making money faster than if you were to try to do it all on your own.

Perhaps you want to launch your idea to earn money for yourself, your company, your chamber of commerce or trade association, your local church or your favorite charity. Maybe you just want to help others. Whatever your goal, we can help you achieve it fast.

Here’s how it works… suppose you have an idea for:

  • a business
  • an e-book or e-zine
  • a workshop or seminar
  • a training program
  • an event
  • a fundraiser

But you’ve not yet taken the steps necessary to making your idea a reality. Sure, you might have bought plenty of training and coaching programs on how to do a variety of different marketing methods online but something is still holding you back.

Maybe you just keep getting sidetracked by other more pressing interruptions or bills keep draining your account before you can launch your idea. There are millions of reasons why you haven’t started and I’m here to eliminate ALL of them.

Nearly all internet businesses promoting the value of Joint Ventures offer to sell you their “How To” program or e-book. These programs can be informative if you want to learn about teaming up with list owners who serve the niche market you are trying to reach, but they won’t do you much good if all you have is an idea and no product ready to sell.

How To Launch Your Product in 30 Days With Joint Venture Lightning
from Brian Duvall on Vimeo.Of course, you could invest thousands of dollars buying more “How To” programs to learn about:

  • SEO by Nancy Andrews - $1,400 (sold out)
  • Conversion by Eric Graham - (by invitation only)
  • Product Launch by Jeff Walker - $997
  • Co-Registration by Brock Felt and Buck Rizvi - $5,000 (sold out)
  • Copywriting by AWAI - $500
  • Creating Mini-sites by Jim Edwards - $997
  • etc., etc., etc… (BTW, I highly recommend each of these)

You could spend many thousands of dollars more attending seminars, bootcamps and workshops or on coaching programs to get one-on-one consultation and networking. But do you have that much money and time to spend learning all of that?

Wouldn’t it be smarter, cheaper and much, much faster to team up with somebody who already knows how to do all of that stuff and get you to the real goal of making money NOW?

I know. You’re thinking “Yeah Brian, that sounds great but how do I know you are the right guy for the job? Why should I trust you with my great idea and how do you make money in this deal?”

O.k. That’s a fair question. Here are some of my resume highlights to help you understand my career experience a little better:

Education:

  • William Byrd High School, Vinton, Virginia - 1982 - Academic Honors and National Art Honor Society
  • Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Virginia - 1988 - BA. Communications, Minor in Psychology. (Go Hokies!)
  • VACCE Institute - 1995 to 1999
  • ACCE Institute for Organization Management, College of Charleston, S.C. - 1995 to 2000. Class President & Small Business Development Instructor.

Career Experience:

  • Video / Audio Production - Media Works, AKD Video, CBS Evening News, VideoProof, Freelance. I created award winning videos for numerous commercial and industrial clients including Ingersoll-Rand, Gardner Denver, Xaloy, Dominion Bankshares, Roanoke Times and World News as well as many others. I was even a freelance videographer and I ran my own video production business for awhile.
  • Public Speaking - Served as Master of Ceremonies for numerous events with groups as large as 2,000 throughout my career. Co-founded the Franklin County Toastmasters Club. Hosted a daily television talk show called Rise & Shine for five years. Hosted a radio talk show for one year called The Main Channel.
  • Public Relations - Director of Public Relations and Communications at the Virginia Credit Union League for three years. Wrote and distributed hundreds of press releases and articles to statewide and national media that resulted in a 200% increase in positive news coverage.
  • CEO of Dirtsurfer USA - I succeeded in getting the Dirtsurfer featured on MTV’s Parental Control reality dating show (September 2006), ATV Insider magazine (April/May 2007) and Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine as well as local media, sports blogs, forums and web sites. I even sent a team of riders to Mexico for a demo tour as part of the nationwide marketing campaign developed by Saatchi & Saatchi Mexico for ChocoMilk.
  • Event Management - Here is a sample list of some of the events that I have organized and the amounts raised for each type. Most of these were done while I was Executive Director of a Chamber of Commerce. The amounts raised are from small lists of under 500 members.
    • $ 312,256 from Golf tournaments
    • $ 141,013 from Awards Banquets
    • $ 99,892 from Raffles
    • $ 64,761 from Capital Campaign
    • $ 56,698 from Trade Shows
    • $ 48,129 from Networking Events
    • $ 31,018 from Kite Festivals
    • $ 24,221 from Costume Balls

Grant Writing - Won $210,000 grant from the Virginia Micro-enterprise Initiative under Governor George Allen. This grant provided start-up funding for over 200 small business entrepreneurs who were turned down by the local banks for business loans. With this program in place, we were able to get five local banks to commit $100,000 each to the loan program for these entrepreneurs.

Publishing - Transformed a business newsletter with 1,200 distribution and a financial loss of $11,000 per year into the profitable New Vision business tabloid with 18,000 distribution. Created, wrote and edited Dirtsurfer Magazine as a glossy 32 page full color quarterly branding publication for distribution to U.S. action sports retailers and subscribers. Created the Inline Boarder sports blog and the Dirtsurfer official corporate blog each with global readership. Numerous membership directories and quality of life magazines over the past 10 years.

Web Sites - The difference here is speed at which I get your site up and running with your content and list building features. You can see samples of some of the sites I’m currently working on in the Client list in the right sidebar. Once your online traffic matures and growth demands a more sophisticated web site, we call on our web design firm to handle the heavy programming.

Membership Development - Developed and managed chamber of commerce membership campaigns with a 97% retention rate. The secret? Sell to members what they want to buy. Most membership based organizations rely on dues income where the fee structure is punitive by design. The more successful a member is (ie: the more employees they have) the more their membership dues are. Then the organization turns around and charges the member for any services, event sponsorships, etc. I employ strategies that reduce the staff’s burden of selling and the member’s burden of getting pressured to support the organization throughout the year.

How do I make money on the deal? Since most small businesses and entrepreneurs tend to be tight on cash flow in the early stages, I use the joint venture / strategic alliance business model.

The whole point of a joint venture / strategic alliance is to team up for greater success. Instead of paying me up-front for website development, graphic design, strategy, videography, photography, copywriting, editing formatting and uploading, tagging, listing, SEO, list-building, my time, etc… I get a percentage of each sale as it occurs.

The risk then falls on me. If I fail to perform then YOU aren’t out anything. This means that if we expect to make any money then I need to make this project work… with your help as the content expert.

It’s a no-brainer. I do almost all of the work and we split the money as it comes in. No out of pocket for you. You can’t lose.

Of course if you prefer to go the traditional route of hiring us to perform certain tasks (like Matt Lee of The Record Depot who hired us to help manage his websites) then we can work with you that way, too. We’ll even work to help you keep costs down  while improving results.

If you like what you see and are willing to give your dream a shot at making money, then sign up to start the conversation TODAY. No Risk and no obligation. I hate spam as much as you do and promise to never reveal your contact info to any other party.
